Recognition criteria

Years of relevant working experience is the pre-requisite for recognition under the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) mechanism. The minimum years of relevant working experience required for each level are as follows.

Recognition Criteria
Level 1 1 year of relevant working experience
in Information & Communications Technology industry
Valid proof of relevant working experience*
Level 2 3 years of service in the Information & Communications Technology industry
(Include 1 year of relevant experience)
Level 3 5 years of service in the Information & Communications Technology industry
(Include 2 years of relevant experience)

 * There is a 5-year transition period for each industry to launch RPL. On or before 30 June 2026, practitioners may apply for the recognition of levels 1 to 3 qualifications from "Operation & Support" of Information & Communications Technology industry based on their past relevant working experience, without the need to take any assessment tests.
