Industry Consultation on the Updates of Specification of Competency Standards (SCS) for ICT Industry

The ICT Industry Training Advisory Committee (ITAC) has completed the updating exercise for the SCS for ICT industry. The updates mainly cover the relevant competency requirements in view of the development of the six emerging areas, i.e. AI, Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, Data Science, eSports Technology and IoT, which are under industry consultation. The Specification of Competency Standards (SCS) for Digital Media Technology Branch of Information and Communications Technology Industry ( "SCS(DMT)" ) consists of 154 Units of Competency (UoCs) which are distributed into 6 functional areas at QF levels 1 to 7.

The Specification of Competency Standards (SCS) for Information and Communications Technology Operation and Support ( "ICT SCS (O&S)" ) mainly comprises competences required for operation and support for ICT systems and equipment commonly used by all organisations regardless of their size and nature of business. It consists of 53 Units of Competency (UoCs) which are distributed into 7 areas (Core Skills and 6 Support Areas) at QF level 1 to 3.
