Backstage Tour of Travel Industry

The Travel Industry Training Advisory Committee (ITAC) piloted two “Backstage tour of Travel Industry” sessions in March 2025. The events provided opportunities for secondary school students studying HKDSE Tourism and Hospitality subject to visit the Travel Industry Authority (TIA) headquarters, gaining in-depth understanding of TIA’s operations in Hong Kong and interacting with industry practitioners. These activities aimed to help students understand the industry’s development prospects and career progression pathways, while planning their future academic and career directions.  TIA representatives delivered clear introductions to the travel industry’s new regulatory system and daily operations, sharing personal experiences to illustrate required competencies and career potential across various industry roles. Participants reported that the activities reinforced their learning while enhancing their understanding of both travel industry and Qualifications Framework.
