Backstage Tour of Travel Industry 2025-2026

The Travel Industry Training Advisory Committee (ITAC) organised four “Backstage Tour of Travel Industry” sessions between October and November 2025. The events provided secondary students studying HKDSE Tourism and Hospitality with opportunities to visit travel agency headquarters, gaining an in-depth understanding of the operations of travel agencies in Hong Kong and interacting with seasoned industry practitioners. These activities aimed to help students understand the industry’s development prospects and progression pathways, and to plan their future academic and career directions. In this academic year, besides visits to travel agencies focusing on leisure tourism, the ITAC also included visits to those specializing in business travel. The sessions received enthusiastic responses. Participants agreed that the events not only reinforced their learning and enhanced their understanding of both the industry and Qualifications Framework (QF), but also increased their interest in joining the travel industry and recognised QF as a valuable tool in their learning journey.
