The Qualifications Framework (QF) has been officially launched on 5 May 2008. The QF is a cross-sectoral hierarchy covering both academic and vocational qualifications required by various industries. With well-defined standards of qualifications and clear indication of the articulation ladders between them, the QF enables people to set clear goals and direction for obtaining quality-assured qualifications.

Property Management -- QF Workshop on Applications of SCS
The Property Management ITAC organized a Workshop on the Applications of SCS on 7 July 2010. In-depth discussion on three major areas, including the development of SCS-based programmes, the application of SCS in Human Resources management and Continuing Professional Development for the industry, were conducted in groups.

Seminar on Accreditation of Programmes in Automotive and Logistics Industries
On 10 June, the Secretariat organized the captioned seminar, inviting the HKCAAVQ to give a briefing session on programme accreditation procedures and requirements. Participants of the seminar are stakeholders from the Automotive and Logistics industries, including representatives from companies, trade associations, training providers, etc.

"Qualifications Framework Short Video Competition" Award Presentation Ceremony
Under Secretary for Education, Mr Kenneth CHEN, JP, officiated at the "Qualifications Framework Short Video Competition" Award Presentation Ceremony today. Prizes were awarded to winners of the Secondary Division and the Institution Division. Congratulations were extended to all winners and thanks to teachers and students for joining the Ceremony.

Industry Consultation for Testing Inspection and Certification Industry
The industry consultation was held on 20th May, 2010 to gather comments from industry stakeholders on setting up an Industry Training Advisory Committee (ITAC) for the industry.

Briefing Session on QF
Thanks to the participation of various education and training providers, the briefing session was successfully held on 17 May 2010. Speakers from the QF Secretariat and Vocational Training Council introduced the use of Specification of Generic (Foundation) Competencies, the concept of QF credit and sample SCS-based curriculum.
