The Automotive SCS, which consists of competency standards of different levels, will serve as the blueprint for training. To ensure the relevance of training programmes to the requirements of the industry, training providers are encouraged to adopt the SCS in their curriculum design. Besides, employers may make use of the SCS in developing in-house training programmes to upgrade the skill level of their staff. Upon completion of the SCS-based programmes, trainees will possess skills that can be objectively measured. Such information will facilitate employers in identifying suitable talents.

The SCS has been moderated by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ) to ensure consistency of QF level across industries.
